The short cut

Elliot and his mum were looking at the beautiful scenery. They were very thankful they met the kind old bakery man. Elliot noticed after a while that the road was getting narrower. ̈mum, I think the road is getting smaller ̈ he exclaimed, his mum just shook off his claim. An hour had passed and night had fallen, although the narrow dirt path was beautifully lit by fireflies and the crickets were singing their goodnight song Elliot was still frightened by the darkness in the distance and the rustling in the bushes. Out of nowhere the car came to a stop, Elliot's mum ́s eyes pierced through the rearview mirror, her bubbly expression turned to shock as the shadow of the bakery man slipped behind the bushes. Elliot's mum started up the car and drove as fast as she could suddenly stopped by a huge boulder blocking the road. Elliot tapped his mum and pointed to her window. The bakery man was standing there with a huge knife! Elliot and his mum shrieked simultaneously. The bakery man lowered his knife and glanced at the cake in his hand. Elliot let out a huge sigh of relief and laid his head in his hands, only to hear a loud shriek.

In class we have been learning how to continue a story on. We have learned how to keep a learner engaged in the story and how to make it interesting.

  1. Kia ora Allysse,
I think it is great that you have posted on your blog already. It does sound very weird that the baker followed them. Did he actually have a cake?
